RISD offers all staff employees the opportunity to participate in a tax advantaged program that will help them save for College expenses. The benefit is administered by Alliance Bernstein Investments.

Start Date: Coverage may begin on the first day of employment but is contingent upon completing the appropriate paperwork with Alliance Bernstein.
End Date: Coverage ends on the last day of active employment.

COBRA (Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act)

Employees and qualified beneficiaries enrolled in any of RISD’s group health plans (medical, dental, vision, FSA health reimbursement account) who involuntarily lose coverage or no longer become eligible to continue coverage during the plan year have the option to continue coverage through COBRA. RISD provides staff employees, any individual(s) who shares residence with the staff employee, and immediate family access to an employee assistance program to help assist with personal issues and situations. The service provided is 100% confidential through LifeScope, an off-campus resource. Services include but are not limited to traditional assessment, counseling, and referral services.

Coverage: Assessment and referral services provided by an off-campus resource. EAP services are private and confidential.
Start Date: Coverage begins on the first day of employment.
End Date: Coverage ends on the last day of active employment.

RISD provides several parking lots on campus, and spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis. There is an annual fee for a parking tag that is deducted from pay on a pre-tax basis. The fee is based on annual wages and is subject to change. A parking tag must be obtained from the Public Safety office before parking in a RISD lot. Please refer to the RISD Transportation page for additional information.

Athletic Facilities:

RISD Student Cantanzaro:

All employees have free access to the RISD Fitness Center at the Cantanzaro Student Center located in the Quad. Access to the RISD Fitness Center is subject to signing a waiver form available at the Office of Student Life.

Brown Athletic Facilities:

RISD employees and dependents using Brown University’s athletic facilities are subject to all applicable rules, regulations, fees, and operation schedules as established by Brown. RISD Museum Of Art:

All employees automatically become members of the RISD Museum of Art and have free access to its many revolving exhibits and collections on display. Visit RISD Museum for more information.

RISD Store and RISD|Works:
